I have had an extensive collection of coins pile up in my house over the years, from all over the world and from dates going back into the 1800’s. Over time currency tends to change in appearance, weight and material depending on what is going on during that particular time period. With age coins become worn and unique looking, making for an interesting collector’s piece. Old coins are a potential gold-mine for many collectors, with some being made from gold or silver, they could be sold today for a “pretty penny”. I personally find coins to be a work of art, small metal relief sculptures that are used as currency, as well as  just be interesting to look at.
